Long time no blog!
WOW! It's been a really long time since the last time I blogged, I"m sure all of you will find that acceptable given the circumstances LOL. And I thank you all so much for being so understanding.
It has been a crazy roller coaster since I was diagnosed with the "C" word on Christmas Day. But thankfully through my faith in God and the support of all my loving and caring family and friends, I am ready to fight this battle.
The news was grim from first oncologist, so we wanted to see a second one. God has a plan I guess because we were scheduled to see someone else but because of my surgery we got to see the #1 doctor who is also the director of the University of Lung Cancer, Dr. Camidge. He spent a hour and half on us!! We are truely blessed to have found him. Anyway, basically when we went to see him he said for the cancer that I have been diagnosed with, I'm not average! The stats come from people over 60 who chained smoked and I am 48 and a none smoker! He said 100,00 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year and 25% will be nonsmokers like me. They are the #1 hospital for lung cancer. He changed what my oncologist gave me as far as cocktail wise and I had my first round of chemo this last thursday, it went really well and I feel great! Prior to the chemo they gave me some steroids (I forgot how much I love them from my MS!)
They are having a round table disscussion on MONDAY where he will talk about my case, he said that he will call me on Monday about 11:30. So I will be waiting for that phone call for sure and will keep you all posted on what the news is. I'm strong thru my savior Jesus Christ!
